This Privacy Notice describes how Bank of Palestine PLC and each of its affiliated entities (collectively referred to as the “Group” and individually as a “Member”) collect, process, use, and protect personal data within Palestine.
Definitions
In this Privacy Notice, unless the context requires otherwise, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
Affiliate: Any entity in Palestine in which the Group or any Member of the Group is a major shareholder or owner.
Personal Data: Any data that may directly or indirectly identify an individual, including, but not limited to, first name, last name or family name, Palestinian national identification number, addresses, telephone number, bank account number, and credit card number.
References to the “Group,” “Member,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” individually or collectively, include all branches, offices, subsidiaries, and affiliates of any Member of the Group that collect and use your Personal Data within Palestine.
Personal Data We Collect
The Personal Data we collect varies depending on the purpose for which it is used. Examples of the data we may collect include:
- Data collected through application forms, surveys, other documents, or communications, including, but not limited to, your full name, date of birth, and identification numbers.
- Data relating to your transactions and products with us, such as account activity and product usage.
- Data collected through your use of our services, websites, or mobile applications, such as cookies.
- Data exchanged during our communications with you, including customer service requests and visual content you provide to us through our websites, mobile applications, social media accounts, or any other channels we use to communicate with customers.

We collect and use Personal Data as required by the nature of our services and business activities. In most cases, our legal basis and purposes include, but are not limited to:
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations and requirements applicable within Palestine.

- Protecting you against fraud by conducting identity and credit checks or checks for potential conflicts.

- Surveys: Online surveys that enable us to gather your views on various topics, including what you like or dislike about the look and feel of our website and mobile applications. Your feedback helps us improve the quality of the experience we provide.
- Directly from you, your authorized agent, or your legal representative.
- From third parties and public sources, where legally permitted: This includes government authorities and credit information companies and agencies.
How We Store Your Personal Data
Your Personal Data will be:
- Retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
- Stored within Palestine.
- Retained as necessary to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
How We Protect Your Personal Data
We take appropriate measures to protect your Personal Data through the necessary physical, technical, administrative, and procedural security measures and safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal.
We protect your Personal Data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations in force in Palestine. However, please note that the internet is not completely secure.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
We may share your Personal Data with any of the following parties:
- Any court, government authority, or regulatory authority, as necessary to comply with legal and regulatory obligations and requirements applicable within Palestine.
- Any debt collection agent, licensed credit information service provider, or insurance company.
- Any Member of the Group or service provider associated with a Member for the purposes of providing products or services to you, improving our products, services, and your experience across our channels, and promoting new financial and investment products and services that may be of interest to you.
We may contact you and/or send you notifications through various channels, including SMS, email, and/or telephone, regarding our products and services.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Notice at any time. The effective date stated below indicates the most recent date on which this Privacy Notice was reviewed or amended.
Checking the effective date below will allow you to determine whether any changes have been made since you last reviewed this Privacy Notice. We therefore recommend reviewing this Privacy Notice periodically to ensure that you are familiar with the most current version.
Deleting Your Digital Banking Account
A feature is available that allows you to delete the digital account associated with our Internet Banking services or the Bank-e app while keeping your underlying bank account active.
From the services menu, select the option to delete your digital account. Once selected, a confirmation screen will appear, and you will be asked to enter your login credentials. After you confirm that you wish to
proceed, a six-digit verification code will be sent to the mobile number registered with the Bank. You must enter this code to complete the deletion process.
Once the deletion process has been completed successfully, your access to digital services will be disabled, and you will no longer be able to use Bank of Palestine’s digital banking services.
Please note that your digital banking login data will be retained for 90 days from the date of your deletion request. During this period, you may reactivate the service by visiting your nearest branch. Once the 90-day period has expired, you will no longer have access to this data.
If you wish to use our digital banking services again, either during or after this period, you may create a new digital account by registering using your account or card information or visit your nearest branch for assistance.
Use of Cookies
To improve our customers’ experience, our websites use a standard technology known as cookies to collect information about how our websites are used, which may include your Personal Data.
The use of cookies is necessary for the operation of our websites.
